The time catch of 1837 to 1901 were the years that Queen Victoria was in loom; therefore naming this time period the Victorian Era. This period of time was filled with legion(predicate) contradictions, non only between the social classes, what was expected from both men and women, but what was expected from women depending on their class or status. on that point were several different classes of people, however all the people that lived in this time period believed that their appearance was more valuable than anything else, including who they represent as a person. However, as important as appearances were at the time, the people of the Victorian Era were surprisingly unsanitary and had perfect medicines to treat awful bodily diseases. Children and women of lower classes were treated as well; both had no rights, were used, and often beaten because there were no laws that protected anyone. Yet, the people of the Victorian Era had extremely set rules to fit their perception of the perfect appearance look, this poor preaching versus perfect appearance is yet another example of the many contradictions of this time period .
