Education in Kurdistan has never been up to the Kurdish aspirations. The Kurdish clergymen for that reason, soundless that the Iraqi governments effort to gain more army was laughable and they realized that they had to overcome the odds against them and used education as a central tool to dismantle the barriers of racial inequality. They ran their own informal schools that were locally called Students Room. The students got their three free-and-easy meals from the villagers free. My father administered his own informal Students Room up to 1960.
I joint his school in 1957.
